Three ways to philosophize

  • Thinking Machine

    See some Philosophy

    Wit & Wisdom Talk Series

Our public talk series is entering its 12th season. Each month, we explore a different philosophical question—from "Should technology be beautiful?" to "What is a happy life?"

It started as a conversation. It's still a conversation.

  • Learn some Philosophy

    Classes & Deep Dives

Casual, engaging, and still rigorous. We provide a philosophy professor who teaches without the stuffiness of an institution or the rabbit hole experience of the internet.

    Reading and writing are optional.

  • Do some Philosophy

    Scoundrels Discussion Groups

Conversations with people interested in ideas and a philosopher to guide. Each session is kicked off by a different question.

Some people talk a lot. Some people mostly listen. Both work.

Is this for me?

If you're wondering whether philosophy is "for you," you're not alone.

Here's what matters: You're curious. That's it.

Our community includes:

  • young adults to 75+

About Philosofarian

Philosophy is out there. Not in dusty books or university seminars, but in the questions people wonder about when they're driving to work, raising kids, or sitting in a bar. What makes a life meaningful? How do we know what's real? What do we owe each other? These aren't academic exercises—they're mysteries at the heart of being human. And everyone, regardless of background, grapples with them.

For twelve years, we've built something rare: a community where philosophy isn't locked behind university gates or reserved for people with degrees. Where educators explore ideas alongside artists, retirees, healthcare workers, and tradespeople. Where questions matter as much as answers. Where thinking together connects people across every demographic line. This is what philosophy looks like when it belongs to everyone.
